I was always hustling - working non-stop, traveling across the country, and hardly spending quality time with my precious kids. My role was demanding, and my to-do list continued forever. From the moment I woke up, I was attached to my phone, sorting through messages and emails while constantly dealing with unexpected 'emergencies.' Rushing became my normal, and my mind couldn't stop. Sleep became hard to find, and waking up refreshed became a rare treat.

I bet you can relate to that 'always on' mode, right? It's funny how, as humans, we adapt to situations, even if they're far from ideal. We start overlooking the flaws and convince ourselves that this is just how life is supposed to be.

Feeling overwhelmed, overworked, and stretched thin has become the norm for many of us. But here's the thing: it doesn't have to be this way. There's a light at the end of the tunnel, a way to find balance and hold onto your sanity.

Feeling overwhelmed on a continual basis can also have various cognitive effects, such as mental slowness, forgetfulness, confusion, difficulty concentrating or thinking logically, a racing mind, or impaired problem-solving ability. Extended periods of overwhelming demands on our thinking can also result in cognitive fatigue, making us more susceptible to distractions and hindering our thinking agility. Each of these effects can reduce your effectiveness and exacerbate feelings of overwhelm.
